The first trailer for the upcoming frankenstein reboot conveniently titled ‘Victor Frankenstein’ has dropped and i have to say for the first time in a long time i am looking forward to seeing a Frankenstein film. The really old films were great but nothing since has managed to capture that magic, but this looks to be pretty promising. The film stars James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe as Victor Frankenstein and Igor respectively and they look to have amazing chemistry that will make the film scary but also somewhat fun to watch.
The tone is something that i am really excited for but also very sceptical at the same time. From what i understood prior to the trailer i thought it was going to be a dark horror like Frankenstein film. But from the trailer i am getting a vibe that is made up of a variety of different tones. It appears to have some horror and a touch of comedy and even a fantasy adventure type feel, maybe to appeal to a much wider and diverse audience. It is hard to know exactly who this film is marketing to from this short trailer but it definitely doesn’t look to be going in the more mature, darker route i believed it would. But for what the trailer was i have to say that i am looking forward to seeing how this movie goes when it releases in US theatres on the 25th of November later this year.
